Searchlight Moonbeam a narrative compilation from Time Is Away - Jack Rollo and Elaine Tierney - whose long-running NTS Radio show is beloved for its poetic blend of archival audio, rare music, and drifting narration. Following their acclaimed 2022 LP Ballads for A Colourful Storm, this 2LP collection deepens their spellbinding approach, drawing together far-flung sounds into an evocative autumnal landscape.

The record weaves a delicate tapestry of moods: Chen Ming Chang’s heartbreaking theme from Dust In The Wind, the DIY dub-pop of Slapp Happy, and Delphine Dora’s expressive piano improvisations. Also featured are the bedroom minimalism of Klang, soundtrack fragments from Bo Harwood and John Cassavetes, and a dreamlike PiL cover by Simon Fisher Turner in his King of Luxembourg guise. Tied together by Time Is Away’s curatorial touch, the selections create a borderless sound world which is intimate, mysterious, and richly textured.
