Tyhjä Pää – Black Gold Dub
Hellraising Oulu x Bristol hookup courtesy of Finnish noise-artist Tyhjä Pää and Bristol's industrial club heavyweights Bad Tracking.
"Elektorni’s murkier sibling Elektyrmä comes out with its first release: Tyhjä Pää - Black Gold Dub.
This record is an Oulu-Bristol toxicological emission that gradually disintegrates from Bad Tracking’s banging remix #2, to the original version’s amorphous pool of grinding noise. Who doesn’t need a noise single with a club remix in their collection?
First up on the 33rpm A-side is the rugged industrial club version (Remix 2) made by Bristol’s legendary Bad Tracking. Laced with grimy 808 cowbells that sound like they are transmitting from a mangled Houston rap tape buried 6 feet under, the track relentlessly marches on towards the inevitable doom of humanity. In the second version (Remix 1) you find yourself in an unfamiliar land with irradiating frequencies washing over you, wave after venomous wave. There is no escape. Finally, flipping the record and shifting gears to 45rpm, Tyhjä Pää’s original version dismantles the illusionary structure of society into primordial goo, searching for a form in which to be re-born." - Elektyrmä
