Following his standout debut Wilurarrakutu on Altered States Tapes / Mississippi Records, Luritja artist Keanu Nelson returns with the lean, soul-scorched Place Where I Go - a potent two-track 7” on the ever-dependable Efficient Space. Co-produced with Yuta Matsumura, the A-side blends dubbed-out percussion and resonant piano into a hazy memory loop of daily life in Nelson's desert home of Papunya. On the flip, “Kapi Ngalyananni” finds Nelson singing in language, delivering a mesmeric water song framed by clapsticks and melodica. A deeply personal continuation of Nelson’s evolving, dream-like sound world - something new, necessary and grounded in place and culture.
