John T. Gast - WYGDN
Two incredible, mournful productions by John T. Gast - one for the dance, the other for quiet introspection - on the now sadly retired Blackest Ever Black label. I think these two tracks originally started life as remix ideas for Carla Del Forno's 'What You Gonna Do Now?' but after a listen the label decided these are special enough to warrant their own release for JTG.
TIP: wygdn_tryagen (5) works just as amazingly well at 45
"Two new productions from John T. Gast. A remix project gone awry / gone to road.
‘wygdn_bashmenttk9’: high-tech dancehall battering ram with an ethereal, mournful edge… rhythm and blooz for the sentimental gun man dem.
‘wygdn_tryagen (5)’: deep and desolated pop-ambient. Canonbury After The Rain. Vocals from the source squished, hacked and splattered across an infinite horizon of vaporous, funereal string-pads." - BLACKEST EVER BLACK
