To us this is perhaps the finest hour of the 90's NYC indie-rap movement - a landmark underground hip hop release from El-P, Bigg Jus and Mr. Len which spawned a whole sub-genre. An accessible yet fiercely original masterpiece which is pure art without pretension - any rap album that can balance that line of originality/accessibility whilst maintaining just the right level of humour and confrontation throughout (plus lyrics to make you think and ponder for weeks) deserves to be up there with any classic golden era record you'd care to mention. Indispensable.
